Chemical Dependency/Alcohol Therapy CTS, Inc. believes that chemical dependency is a chronic disorder involving both psychological and physiological variables which render certain individuals incapable of refraining from frequent alcohol ingestion to the point of both continued intoxication and eventual inter-personal and social dysfunction. The problem being cancerous, it needs to be arrested and that has to be handled by professional techniques. Therapy with the alcoholic is a frustrating experience and has to be met with a qualitative approach. The program runs from six to nine months with provisions for extended aftercare therapeutic services. Traumatic Brain Injury & Chemical Dependency Treatment CTS clinical psychologists provide treatment for individuals diagnosed as traumatically brain injured and chemically dependent (TBICD). Family Therapy & Marriage Counseling Chemical dependency has often been referred to as the Family Disease because it affects everyone in the alcoholic family directly or indirectly. As a result, family involvement is extremely important to successful rehabilitation. Treatment of the family is one of our specialties. Impaired marital relations lead to impaired family and family dysfunction. They need to be treated by licensed professional marital and family therapists. Sex Therapy (Therapy for Sexual Dysfunctioning) The greatest inhibitions to healthy sexual functions are feelings of guilt, anxiety and negative feelings towards sexuality. There is a positive correlation between sexual dysfunction and substance abuse. These problems need to be handled only by highly qualified sexologists/sex therapists and CTS has a reputation as board certified specialists in this field.
Psychotherapy is a treatment tool used by CTS therapist to successfully deal with patients with disturbed thoughts and feelings. This is accomplished largely through the process of verbal exchange (clinic oriented) with a specific goal to reduce these disturbances and encourage a more desirable behavior. This is directed toward the understanding of mental disorders arising from either psychological, sociological or other neo-modern trends.
